          The European Commission awards the EU Humanitarian Partnership Certificate to DACAAR

The European Commission assessed that DACAAR has met all the conditions to be a “Potential Programmatic Partner” and therefore it is eligible to apply for EU Humanitarian Funding under the 2021-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework.

DACAAR is part of the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) funded Emergency Respond Mechanism (ERM), in Afghanistan. Thanks to this cooperation, DACAAR, can provide Emergency WASH support to those most affected by the conflict and natural disasters. It has been possible to make over 1,100 latrines, to distribute more than 900 hygiene kits, to conduct almost 10,000 hygiene session and to rehabilitate 36 wells, since January 2020 alone.

The project, funded by the EU humanitarian aid, between January and October alone, has provided help to 31,030 families, or 197,312 individuals in 28 provinces. These numbers highlight the importance of the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) assistance for the Afghan people and DACAAR.

The Certificate also asserts the high standards applied by DACAAR while implementing its activities.

DACAAR is pleased to have the opportunity to be a European Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations partner for the next seven years, and it looks forward to strengthening this relationship on the field, where help is badly needed after decades of conflict and natural disasters.
