Position Description:
The Water Supply Solar System Officer is responsible for collecting data for system design and obtaining quality confirmation from MRRD in close consultation with the line manager. The Officer should follow the solar water supply system installation process and ensure it provides the required discharges and he/she is responsible for supervising the process/work closely and guiding the Solar Technicians to check the combination of the main part (adjusting the inverter with the solar power, submersible pump, wiring size and determining solar access with the sun chart and proper tilting angle). The Water Supply Solar System Officer should have proper knowledge of photovoltaic principles, characteristics of the module, and module performances

 

Responsibilities:
  • Make the collected data for the solar water supply system design is correct and compiled for the solar water supply system designing, preparation of the BoQ, and cost estimation.
  • Prepare required requests for the solar water supply systems and announce them.
  • Participate in solar water system-related Preliminary Technical Evaluation (PTE) and Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), following the process actively. 
  • Ensure proper installation of the solar system in close coordination with the Solar System Technicians, design, and field colleagues.
  • Manage the work of technicians and ensure proper wiring of the system, and over current projection sizing.
  • Make sure proper working of the solar water supply systems, know the importance of the inverter and its relation with the pumps and power, the operation principle, types and features. 
  • Train the technician, solar-powered water supply system operator, and other relevant technical staff in the field.
  • Supervise the solar water supply systems in critical junctures. 
  • Analyze the electrical load and load estimation in the solar water supply system. 
  • In close coordination with the other relevant staff prepare Purchase Request Forms (PRFs) of the solar-related items, and ensure all the required specifications of the items needed for a system are included in the PRFs. 
  • Support field colleagues in response to the quarries of local government/ donors concerning the solar water supply system and provide proper justifications to resolve issues at local and national levels.
  • Make sure that all planned solar systems are technically designed and implemented based on the approved design. 
  • Provide required technical support to the field staff. 
  • Make sure proper functionality of implemented solar projects,
  • Perform timely QA of the solar systems and other related parts (panels, inverter, pumps, and other accessories).
  • In close coordination with the Logistics team ensure the products are original and if necessary obtain required confirmations from the production companies, etc.
  • The holder of this position must strictly follow the organization's existing security policies, procedures, and daily instructions of the safety personnel.
  • Any other task given by the Supervisor. 

 

Education/ Qualification and Employment Benefits                                                 
Education:University degree, BSc in civil/Electrical Engineering Renewable Energy.
Experience: At least Five (5) years of relevant experience in Water Supply Solar System designing, installation and repairing projects (Renewable Energy).

Languages:Oral and written fluency in(English, Dari, Pashto)
