DACAAR invites applications from suitable candidates for the following position:

Organization Background:
DACAAR is a non governmental, humanitarian organization that supports sustainable development in Afghanistan through promoting the ability of local communities to decide upon and manage their own development process. The organisation employs around 600 staff of whom 05 are expatriates. Core thematic areas are: Water, Sanitation & Hygiene; Natural Resource Management; Small Scale Enterprise Development; Women’s Empowerment.
Position Description:

The Foremen is responsible to insure the process of activities is on time and the quality and quantity of activities is insured.

·         Conductin village survey and site selection of stand post, water tank reservoir, bath and latrine properly.

·         Taking care of emergency projects (Emergency bath & latrine), construction & repairing of wells

·         Follow up of the construction of emergency activities, particularly bath and latrines.

·         Taking care of distribution of water, emergency hygiene kits, bath and latrine materials for the IDP.

·          Filling the logbook of the vehicles , which is supplying water for the community,

·         Taking care of rehabilitation drilling of water points.

·         Filling the daily work record forms.

·         Daily assigning of the vehicles, equipment and skill laborers for project’s activities.

·         Mobilization of IDP/community to contribute the project if required

·         Ensure the supply of sand, gravel, and stone in the well/ stand post site, which is the community responsibility.

·         Taking care of construction of Bai sand filter and distribution to the selected people.

·         Daily follow up ongoing water points/stand posts and latrine construction in the site.

·         Filling of IDP /villager agreement and hand pump agreement forms for each water points.

·         Supervision of ongoing emergency project activities on daily basis.

·         To do an assessment of the IDP if required by team leader

·         Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor

Education/ Qualification and Employment Benefits                                                

Education: Bachelor degree (civil engineering is preferred.)
Experience: At least 2 years relevant experience is required.
Other qualifications’ an advantage: Community Mobilisation, Good Communication Skills
Languages: Pashto / Dari and English.
