Core thematic areas are: Water, Sanitation & Hygiene; Natural Resource Management; Small Scale Enterprise Development; Women’s Empowerment.
Position Description:
The Assistant Engineer is responsible to assist the Team Leader in implementation of the project and ensure that the strategy and procedure of implementation is applied.
  • Assist Team Leader conducting village assessment survey and selecting proper locations for water points and latrines.
  • Chlorination of water sources.
  • Check quality of sand, gravel and other constructing materials on site.
  • Follow up the curing of concrete work and concrete elements.
  • Distribute concrete elements and construction materials to the site.
  • Keep daily record of project progress.
  • Assign vehicles, equipment and skilled laborers for daily project’s activities.
  • Assist the Team Leader in mobilizing communities to contribute the project.
  • Make shure the emergency latrine erected properly according to the design.
  • Conducting of WASH technical survey.
  • Follow up and monitoring of water trucking and hygiene kit distribution.
  • Assist Team Leader in preparing assessment reports, WASH Survey, stock report and attendance report.
  • The holder of this position must strictly follows the organization existing security policies, procedures and daily instructions of the safety personnel.
  • Any other task given by the Supervisor.
Education/ Qualification and Employment Benefits:


Education: University degree, BSc in civil Engineering is required.
Experience: Minimum three (3) years relevant experience in Emergency WASH related projects.
Other qualifications’ an advantage: Strong Communication Skill and proper planning skill and Community mobilization.
Languages: Pashto, Dari and English.
